Main Street Modern is built on the belief that great design begins with pieces that have lived, objects shaped by time, use, and the hands that made them. Our work is rooted in sustainability and thoughtful craftsmanship, guided by a genuine love for vintage furniture and objects that carry history, artistry, and soul into everyday spaces.
We focus on pieces with presence, chosen for their integrity, materiality, and ability to live beautifully over time. Each piece is curated with care, meant not just to furnish a space, but to become part of it.
Main Street Modern was founded by Adam Hoover, a longtime collector and devoted admirer of mid-century modern design and well-made objects. Adam's passion for vintage began long before it was widely popular, driven by an appreciation for form, function, and things built to last.
That passion grew into what is now one of Ohio's largest and most thoughtfully curated vintage furniture collections. Located in the heart of downtown Canton, Ohio, Main Street Modern spans over 40,000 sq ft and has become a destination for design lovers near and far. What began as a local endeavor has grown into a space that draws visitors from across the country-- and around the world-- brining new energy into the Downtown Canton community. Designers and collectors come not only to shop, but to connect through a shared appreciation for good design.
Lost Thread Vintage & Ohio Workroom
Lost Thread Vintage is our dedicated vintage clothing shop, built through long-standing relationships with trusted vendors and fellow lovers of vintage style. Each piece is hand selected for its individuality, wearability, and point of view, creating a rotating collection shaped by people who live and breathe vintage.
We also own and operate Ohio Workroom (formerly Laubacher Upholstery), a long-standing local upholstery shop with deep roots in the Canton community. Serving the region for generations, the workroom allows us to restore, reimagine, and extend the life of vintage furniture while supporting skilled craftsmanship close to home.
This hands-on approach ensures each piece is cared for with knowledge, intention, and respect.
